Quindici19 Contest

Project Overview

All Projects

Quindici19 Contest was the founding project of the association and the starting point of our journey. Born in 2014 as a school initiative at Liceo Righi in Rome, it quickly evolved into a national, and later international, short film competition for young filmmakers.

The Contest combined film screenings with free training workshops in directing, screenwriting, and production, offering young participants not only visibility but also concrete educational opportunities and access to professional networks.

Between 2014 and 2017, the project grew significantly: from 30+ submissions in its first edition to 600+ submissions from 80 countries in 2017; from a school garden ceremony to Teatro Sala Umberto and Cinema Farnese Persol; from local partnerships to collaborations with institutions such as MIUR, Giffoni Film Festival, British Film Institute, EYE Film Institute, ACMI, and Cinecittà.

Across its four editions, the Contest engaged more than 1,000 young filmmakers, 100+ workshop participants, 1,000+ live audience members, and international and award-winning jurors.

The Contest laid the foundations of Quindici19's core principles: youth leadership, non-formal education, international cultural cooperation, and the belief that cinema can create spaces of encounter and shared growth.
